Before the first Rogue RangerRogue Ranger evolved, all duties were performed by Road Rangers.
Our primary directive is to help people out of bad relationships, or teach them to "be their own person", so they can build and develop. While the primary subjects are mainly women in deadend marriages, a few Lady Rangers are assigned to bring away men-in-need, as well. The Ranger will make contact and usually develop a whirlwind romance. The subject can then be convinced to make a geographic relocation, at least to a new city if not a new state. Once the complete break is made, work shall begin in developing the subject's self-esteem and independence.

CAUTION: Breaking free once the goals are achieved sometimes takes a great tole on some of our Rangers (something programmed out of Rogues). Recruited from the ranks of loners, Road Rangers naturally shy away from long-term committments. Deep bonding was a detriment to the project, and we lost a few rangers who could not/would not break away from a new-formed relationship. It happens. On occasion it was encouraged; as we found it a more "humane" way to retire rangers.

Even our ranks have been infiltrated by the touchy-feely folks. So here is your chance to get-it-off-your-chest. It was suggested our story would make a good novel. Do you want to help us create it? Add your two cents worth. At the least, if we share our gained knowledge and experiences so that those going forth on the ROGUE missions can benefit. Share your gear ideas. Share your recipes. Yes you do have a purpose for being, beyond the primary directive.

The background video was that of a moonbase from which pairs of jeans were being launched into space through immense rings stretching across the moonscape.

Knowledge is awareness, and to it there are many paths, not all of them paved with logic. But sometimes one is guided through the maze by intuition. one is led by something felt on the wind, something seen in the stars, something that calls from the wastelands to the spirit. We sometimes forget the Lonesome Gods of the far places, the gods who live on the empty sea, who dance with the dust devils and who wait quietly in the shadows under the cliffs where ancient man have marked their passing...
Remember this: our world is one where the impossible occurs every day, and what we often call supernatural is simply the misunderstood.

A lot of my philosophy is based on what I have read. Always finding words to describe my views and feelings. Often they were spoken by fictitious characters in fictitious novels. But the thought behind the words rings true. This is not strange when one considers that over the years of travel betwwen assignments, I usually have a closer relationship with a book than a person.

Our name is Jill, Mark, Joshua, Will, Jack ... whatever is needed for a particular assignment. i have changed names and personalities so often, I don't know who I WAS. Could be why Rangers must be Gemini.

Funny. I can remember places, names, music and movies. But not the faces of the women I was assigned to, or "family" I grew up with. And always i left them in a moment when they had to make a decision on where they were going to go - back to the old relationship/situation or onward to a new life. But they would not be where I left them (usually in the middle of the night). Guess thats so I don't try to go back.

To be disappointed that the lights did not go out at y2K. yeah you look at life a little different.

Uncivilized, anti-social? No. Just not "mainstream" of society.
